On top of the US manufactured vehicles, ATEQ's VT55 OBD2 reprograms Asian and European vehicles (including Toyota, Honda, Nissan, Hyundai, Kia, Mitsubishi, etc) which do not feature self-reprogramming TPMS software. Technicians only need to select the make of the vehicle and press the START button to accurately activate and decode TPMS sensors and display the data and any faults.
With the introduction of the ATEQ MitsuReset tool, ATEQ said tire shops have a low-cost, simple solution for performing TPMS relearns on Mitsubishi vehicles without the need for a scan tool.ATEQ’s standalone MitsuReset can be used with any other TPMS trigger tools, such as the ATEQ VT55 OBDII TPMS, the ATEQ VT30 or VT15 trigger tools, the company said.
When a tire pressure sensor or control unit is replaced, the IDs on all four sensors must be memorized by the TPMS control unit. Here’s how the memorization process works (note that TPMS Tool AKS06020006 or TPMS Tool ATEQ VT55 are necessary to perform this procedure).
The biggest advantage for me is that MaxiDiag Elite MD802 will talk to all the modules on our Sprinter vans. You get a lot of capability for the money. The downsides are the live data; it’s pretty limited information in some modules. The power train live data is fairly complete though.
Also this Autel MD802 is not always consistent when you are navigating the Professional Diagnostic Tools and different screens; once in a while you have to restart it to get it to play nice. Not a huge deal because I used to have to do this with the multi-thousand dollar dealership scan tools that I used. Over all it’s a really good value.
